Boothe called his selection to the prestigious Top 40 Under 40 roster quite humbling.
鈥淚t is a great honor and privilege to have been chosen as one of the Mississippi Business Journal鈥檚 Top 40 Under 40. I am blessed to stand amongst these talented and distinguished Mississippi business and civic leaders who have proven themselves as high achievers and trend-setters in our state,鈥 he said.

Prior to becoming a registered nurse, Boothe served his community as a nationally registered Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with the Madison Volunteer Fire Department and local ambulance service.
Boothe notes that his time as a USM student helped shape the foundation for his career in healthcare.
鈥淢y time at USM paved the way for future successes in my career by offering challenging opportunities in a curriculum based in coursework and excellent clinical opportunities,鈥 said Boothe. 鈥淭he skills I developed in professionalism, ethics, and leadership helped me to establish a firm foundation in my education that I am able to directly apply to a rewarding career on a daily basis.鈥

Dr. Lachel Story, Dean of USM鈥檚 College of Nursing and Health Professions, expressed pride in Boothe鈥檚 elite recognition.
鈥淐hris is such a testament to what many nurses know - the path to becoming and being a nurse is not straight, and the road is often difficult to travel. He has persevered and excelled through adversity and demonstrated resiliency all along his path,鈥 said Story.
Boothe lives in Madison with his wife, Mallori, who is also a graduate of USM鈥檚 nursing program. They have two children - daughter Selby (11) and son Shelton (6).
