This diverse campus spans 300 acres in the heart of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. More than 180 buildings dot a landscape that has been transformed into a pedestrian-friendly environment for students, employees and visitors. This campus is home to the sixth-oldest acceptance-based Honors College in the nation, a vibrant arts community that produces hundreds of events each year, and internationally-recognized researchers whose expertise ranges from polymer science and engineering to sports safety and security.

Gulf Park Campus

Gulf Park Campus

Through its 52-acre beachfront campus in Long Beach, Mississippi, the University serves as the only four-year public institution located on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and offers bachelor鈥檚, master鈥檚 and doctoral degrees in more than 50 distinct academic fields. The Gulf Park campus is also home to the state鈥檚 only bachelor鈥檚 degree in ocean engineering and the only film studies pathway offered at a public institution in the state.

Gulf Coast Research Laboratory

Gulf Coast Research Laboratory

The University鈥檚 Gulf Coast Research Laboratory (GCRL) occupies 275 acres at two sites in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Research and academics at GCRL focus on coastal ecology, aquatic health, fisheries and fisheries ecology, marine aquaculture, and outreach and education through the Division of Coastal Sciences, the Center for Fisheries Research and Development, the Marine Education Center, and the Thad Cochran Marine Aquaculture Center. Gulf Coast Research Laboratory also homeports the vessels R/V Jim Franks, R/V Hermes, and the Miss Peetsy B.

John C. Stennis Space Center

John C. Stennis Space Center

The John C. Stennis Space Center in Hancock County, Mississippi, houses the University鈥檚 Division of Marine Science, Hydrographic Science Research Center, Center for Gulf Studies, and Center of Higher Learning. Division faculty conduct research that spans the global oceans while offering graduate programs in marine science and hydrographic science, and undergraduate programs in marine science and ocean engineering. The Division also offers the first unmanned maritime systems certification in the United States.

Point Cadet Marina

Point Cadet Marina

Point Cadet in Biloxi, Mississippi, serves as a teaching and research vessel staging site, coordinated through the University鈥檚 Gulf Coast Research Laboratory and is the homeport of the R/V Tommy Munro.

Port of Gulfport

Port of Gulfport

The Port of Gulfport is a 250-acre deep-water port and inland port facility in Gulfport, Mississippi. It is home to the University鈥檚 largest research vessel, the R/V Point Sur. The 135-foot R/V Point Sur is the only oceanographic class research vessel home-ported in the northern Gulf of Mexico east of the Mississippi River.
